… here is a chance to go back to my memories … my first work… my first “out of home state” travel… my first income… and this come all of a sudden, though i had been through lots of un-materialized plans to visit back to this magnificent historical city…

2 years back i went to hyderabad… it was a work-packed day for me … could not visit many places…just had a glimpse of charminar again … people were friendly … i wish they will still be …

… and now i’m fully excited to go there again … when i was there, i did not have any camera with me, and when i started photography, i could not go there for a shoot … and this is the opportunity to fulfill both … this is the opportunity to meet my old friends whom i left there while leaving hyderabad … this is also the opportunity to meet some of my new photographer friends whom i have never met earlier…

dariye acho tumi amar … ganer opaare

i’m getting addicted to one of the daily soaps in TV, can you imagine? … till now all I have been watching is travel and living, natgeo, discovery and times now, as and when I took the tv remote in my hand … for some days, I started liking “ganer opaare”, a daily soap at star Jalsa … a story of a family who is influenced by the philosophy and ideology of Rabindranath Tagore …

this year is 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and all over the world ( specially bengali’s) his anniversary is being celebrated … on that occasion this serial is very much timely … scripted by Rituparno ghosh ( award winning Bengali cinema director) and produced by Prasenjit Chatterjee ( most famous Bengali cinema superstar ), this serial is a perfect blend of intellectualism and common … unlike other serials, if you miss one of the episode, you actually miss that episode …

… this serial has given me a food for thought on the uses of Rabindrasangeet ( songs of Rabindranath) in different situations … beautifully fitted in and beautifully executed …

… for me Rabindrasangeet is the soul of that serial … Rabindrasangeet is so assimilated with their life and memories … and Rabindrasangeet is so assimilated with our life and memories as well… every moment in our life has a Rabindrasangeet … even after hundred plus years, those songs are still ever modern, ever green …

and it will be that way … if I need to worship Rabindranath Tagore for at least one reason, it will be his music … music for every moments , music throughout our life…

flashback : a tiny remote village at the countryside of west Bengal … dark black night sky with stars blinking strikingly … no electricity … green pathways alongside the paddy field … no good roads … bullock carts with night oil lamps hanging around its tent … no foot print of any motor car … early morning “chashibhai der janyo” program in radio … nobody had any idea even a box can talk and show its face … irrigation pump-sets and tanks here and there across the fields … and wherever your eyes go, all green …

a little boy sitting on the top of a pump-set tank next to his maternal uncle’s home used to listen some tunes … waving from a long distance house … a female voice with a harmonium, every morning … don’t know when, but it got a permanent position in his memory … just like a sunrise… eternal and true … anando loke mangala loke birajo satya sundaro …

.. that’s how Rabindranath came in his mind and got a permanent place … that’s why Rabindranath emerged to him not as a poet but as a guru for his life …
